About the artist
I have been able to draw and create things for as long as I can remember. I continued to draw throughout school, but often found art classes frustrating when the teacher did not join me in my love of pencil, charcoal and 'anything messy', insisting watercolour was the way to go. To this day I have never produced anything in this medium!...Yet!
I didn't take any qualifications in art, but did continue to work occasionally at home, mainly drawing horses or birds and also old buildings. It was over 20 years after leaving school, having drawn a picture of a friend on her horse as a 'thank you' present, that I was asked to do pictures for other people and since then, have continue to do animal portraits on request.
My passion is painting racehorses in oils as I enjoy capturing the feeling of speed, which can be seen on the gallery pages, along with other selected commissioned pictures.
Commissions can be taken for any animal in pencil or oil. Prices start at £30 for unframed work, or £65 with a professional framing in your choice of style.
